Gonna give this a shot, figure every few months we’ll do an ad competition. It’s been done in the past, so let’s give it another go. Client: Barnes & Noble Bookstores Problem: Ranked in the top 25 of America’s dying industries by USA Today, book and periodical merchant wholesalers have been hit by digital media and online retailers. Most magazines offer plenty of free content on their websites, digital subscriptions are exploding, and a used copy of your favorite novel can be found for a mere few bucks on Amazon dropped at your door in the same day. So what’s so special about bookstores anymore? Clearly that was too complicated for people, so I’ll simplify it—make an ad for Barnes & Noble bookstores. Go for a print ad, OOH, banner, a nice headline or an original visual, or even a script or storyboard—you get the idea. Simple executions, no budget, no planning, just use your creative juices and come up with something original. Deadline: August 15 Winner gets Reddit Gold. 2nd and 3rd get Silver. And, again, leave all non-submissions to the official questions comment thread. submitted by /u/stopbeingextra [link] [comments]
