My girlfriend posed this the other day: an immediate minimum wage increase to $15-$20/hr would be great but everything would become more expensive, and why does it have to be that way? I’m far from an economist and it’s all senseless to me anyway so my uneducated response was that it really doesn’t have to be like that, it’s all just made up. My question is, does this have to be the case? What is the socialist response/solution to this? How do small businesses who probably can’t afford to all of a sudden pay their employees up to $10 per hour more factor in?
