Currently launching an online grocery store, I’ll sell imported goods that aren’t easily found here in the US. Most of the products have a considerable weight, think 2lb bags of beans, rice, canned goods, flour. Some other products aren’t as heavy but take some room, such as pasta, cookies, candy. I thought of having a higher margin on the products but offer free shipping, my prices are still about 30% cheaper than sellers’ on Amazon. Now I need to order shipping boxes and decide on a delivery company to work with.. Initially I was going with USPS’s flat rate medium and large boxes, $13.20 to $18.30 as I can fill them with 70lbs of goods, but I got them today and realized they’re not really that big. So it looks like I’ll have to go with larger boxes and dynamic pricing instead of flat rate. Would USPS still be the cheapest company to worth with? I don’t mind products taking 1 week to be delivered since it’s free shipping, customers can always pay for faster shipping if they want to. I see many online stores working with FedEx but their pricing doesn’t seem that competitive. Would love to hear your recommendation and also any tips for shipping this kind of product. – by /hq/bitcoingiftcard – –
