I’m just playing around in a sandbox, but I built two RHEL 8 EC2 nodes and an RDS to connect to in AWS, but I haven’t gotten past the old “error establishing a database connection” issue. I’ve disabled selinux, disabled firewalld, made sure the correct ip’s/ports were in the right incoming/outgoing AWS security groups, and I can even connect to RDS via EC2 terminal on both systems. If I go through the WP installer, error establishing db connection. If I try and configure wp-config.php myself, I get “Sorry, I need a wp-config-sample.php to work from.” If I go direct to the ip in a browser after manually configuring wp-config, I also get error connecting to DB. Has anyone else experienced these problems? If so, I’d be curious to hear what you may have done to address. – by hq overview wpjunky – –
