Best starting point to learn SEO?

I’ve got a blog up & running, and have been trying to learn SEO on my own. It seems like most “how to start a blog” info just says to add a Yoast plug-in, and assumes you’ll go from there. Then other searches online seem to start over my head. Do you know of a good (free) video, or step by step of what to do when just starting out with SEO? I’m looking for the basics so I can start there & build on it. Any suggestions for the best video/book to use for step 2 (after I get the basics down) would be appreciated too. I have zero programming experience, I don’t know any computer languages, and am a complete newbie. My site is built with WordPress & Elementor (which made it east to set up).
