Hey I’ve been learning web development for a year and also have a prior on and off experience with bug bounty programs. I was thinking of starting a business (job is not a path for me) where I’d help businesses find security flaws on their websites, ranging from simple fixes and issues such as missing SSL cert all the way up to more severe issues like access to vulnerable data. Of course I do it under the precondition that the business gives me consent to run tests and it could really be harmful for them to not fix the flaws (meaning I am not feeding them issues that might not really be that impactful). I’d first give them an overview of all the things I found and then would help them fix those issues tailoring it based on the relationship they have with their developers or whoever helped them make the website and takes care of running it. I would outsource some of the work because obviously I am not an expert on this, but just see an opportunity. I was in finance for over 5 years so I would prefer therefore to run a business as opposed to get a job. What do you think? Thanks! – by /hq/LEMUR39 – –
