Hi all, How do you go about registering a domain with untested registrar, and can you transfer ownership to a trusted one (Google Domains). I normally use Google domains or less often now, Fasthosts to register domains relating to my business – but then it’s always handed off IT people that know what they are doing. So I have never done anything more complicated than entering my card details. I am really delving into computers right now (Linux/Python/Raspberry Pi) – It has been my most successful attempt so far, and I’m really pleased! I’m looking to host a personal blog & private wiki on my Pi and I’m trying to come up with a domain that’ll make me chuckle when I type it in. I like the “.af” domains (or I was thinking some Domain Hacking type thing) but Google Domains lists them all as unavailable. For example – if I wanted the domain tadswicked.af domians.google.com — not available. instra.com – Available. Is there a way to get this domain managed from my google account, so all my domains are under one roof? Would it be a case of registering on instra.com and then somehow transferring to google? If that is how it works – will renewal be possible from the google account too? Not looking for specifics – just an idea on the theory. Thanks a bunch.
