I know legal advice should only be taken by attorneys but I just need experienced advice. My llc was suspended by CA FTB due to : failure to pay $800 2020 tax base fee and complete business statement. I only worked 1 contract position 2020, and to date they have not provided 1090 or even a full statement for 2019 or 2020. They are notorious for late payments (this year 4 mos to get 1st check) and I’m not the only contractor/vendor with issue. After working Project Roomkey (Gov Newsome Er homeless C-19 hotel project) I suffered a mental anxiety and depression, while working at my new job in wine industry and having been documented harassed by management. Documentation and counseling was through EOP and my private insurance. I NEVER missed work while in 4 part trauma treatment-stopped anxiety meds after 30 days due to low dosage ). When I called to report to FTB that I had finally received check payment of $12k in April 21-but could not deposit check due to business suspension-they said “you’ll have to find a way”. After a month and now 4 mos of 0 income (left wine distribution), I just decided to file for new LLC and removed 1 part from previous business name and finally got check cashed. Now-should I move fwd and file for previous business to be closed? I know I still owe tax and penalty, but I don’t know how that negative action could impact future opportunities. – by /hq/Bigbbwchocstraw – –
