Hi all, Im in the process of switching careers, pretty much got the basics down of HTML/CSS, started to learn Javascript, just need to practice. Also have knowledge of basic python programming with my uni course. Anyway I’ve been applying to trainee positions and junior positions stating my current knowledge etc some have been willing to discuss taking on someone lower than the requirements guess means cheaper for them. As I’ve been applying for about a year to different roles and have noticed an increase in requirements across the roles which is I guess expected, with continued developments. my list of items to learn is getting ever longer haha. I came across this yesterday for a trainee role, which I had to double take. What You Need To Have A technical degree that covers relevant subjects like IT, computer science, software engineering, and web design and development. A grounding in web development concepts, process, methodologies, and tools. Knowledge in front-end and back-end programming languages like HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Python and MySQL. Some technical knowledge in areas like client-side components, server-side languages, database management systems, web application frameworks, and version control systems. A logical approach to identifying and solving problems as well as a strong ability to collaborate and communicate. As a Trainee Web Developer, you will Learn about front-end and back-end development and be able to code using relevant languages. Plan, prototype and test applications in different browsers and environments. Create website and web pages to demonstrate your development skills. Receive guidance, advice and support from an industry expert to acquaint yourself with various areas of web development and grow your mastery in the use of different programming languages and development tools. A degree is a requirement now for a trainee position?? I knew most internships required you to either be in the last year of a degree or just finished, but a trainee? its like apprenticeship level. Is it just me or am I missing something here. – by /hq/danjwilko – –
