I work for a fund as a “real” job and have accumulated a bit of capital which I would like to invest in my own business. I recently started looking into dog grooming businesses as it’s a simple, recurring revenue business with no threat of digitalization. I have found one for sale, with revenue ~200k per annum. The owner is looking for 100k price tag. I don’t know what the rest of the P&L looks like yet. What is achievable for a single location EBITDA margin on these businesses? How feasible is it to extract synergies when opening up or buying further sites? What are the key pitfalls and best practices to be successful? Has anybody had experience diversifying revenue streams for a salon? E.g. resale of products, perhaps even own products.
