Duplicate content across CCTLDs

Hey r/TechSEO I manage SEO for a multi-national business that essentially has a global seo resource center which feeds into the local SEO managers, one of the aspects that is handled on a global level is blog content. Our process has been to essentially localize this content (change internal links, wording, etc..) and then post it. This has results in instances of Google choosing to select another markets content as canonical and not index the pages that should I would prefer to be indexed. Is there anything that can be done outside of a) rewriting the content so it’s not duplicate (not well enough resourced) or b) implementing hreflang tags (this is in the dev pipeline right now). – by /hq/itsacandydishned – –
