I’ve been paying my 2 employees for the past 2 years a full time W2 wage. Now I want to fire them and get rid of employees completely as my business isn’t doing to well. Its just a small computer repair shop in NYC and there is no severance package or anything fancy like that. I’ve been doing my W2 payouts using the automated service gusto.com. I also pay for family leave and unemployment insurance I believe. I’m planning to end their duties this week. They are close friends and understand the situation. Since it’s my first time getting rid of W2 employees. What do I need to do? Do I need to contact the state and federal so they stop deducting my bank account every month when I pay them through gusto? And do I call the insurance companies to say I don’t have any employees anymore? What else might I be forgetting? – by hq overview patoshii – –
