External Links Not Working on Netlify

I tried searching but could not find a duplicate problem anywhere. Anything I link to puts my domain name before the link and includes the parentheses. For example, email would link to xxxxxxxxxx.com/”mailto:xxxxxxxx@bongo.com”. So it would link properly to any local pages but not anywhere else.
