Ok, lets put a full stop there once and for all, once in a while someone posts here what optimization event to choose, we all say purchases, clear, but if there are less than 50 sales/week it will be learning limited,

    facebook clearly state here [https://www.facebook.com/business/help/269269737396981?id=561906377587030&recommended_by=203183363050448](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/269269737396981?id=561906377587030&recommended_by=203183363050448)

**Change your optimization event.** Consider choosing an optimization event that occurs more frequently. For example, **move from purchases to add to cart.**

i tried it myself, yeah i got 5x times better ATC cost, but 0 sales, and its pretty straight forward that people who adding to cart left and right are not our customers, but then why facebook in help center have this straight forward wrong recommendation?

    am i missing something?

have anyone tried to optimize for carts for longer period? maybe someone tried initiate checkout, which is closer to the goal?

I think sometimes they recommend incorrectly. In my experience ($2-3 million a year in ad spend), FB is much better at getting what you ask for, so purchase will always be better if you’re trying to get purchases.

First tell me if any of you have ever had a FB rep that knew more then you about FB Ads Manager and how to optimize their product? I have been though over 10 different reps in 5 years and we find some people that have great knowledge about what FB dictates but very few have actually experienced results as you and me probably have. I can tell you from 100% experience that you optimize for what you want FB algorithm to optimize for in your case sales in my case conversions but each their own name but same thing. So always optimize for sales always no matter what. Many of my learning phase ad set beats the fully optimized ad sets. Check for your self. You kind of answered your own question with your little test and got 5x the ATC. ???? your experience with the product gives you a better knowledge of the product just pay attention and document what you are seeing. Doing FB ads is like being an artist and everyone will find their own style of doing things that works for them. But you should be in school every day learning about the product you are working with.

My experience is around 120 million in 5 years.
