I’m a freelance full stack developer and recently have taken on a software project with a new client where I could be back-end only or front-end only depending on the phase. The client bought the web software from another company, and they want to do some modifications to fit their own business needs. This also involves re-branding the software. For the re-branding step, I was given some Adobe Illustrator vector files as source material. However I don’t do UI design work. Should I expect as a front-end dev to work with design software from time to time in some projects? How often do you design? In typical jobs usually there is a design department that takes care of the graphics and I just build the websites based on the mockups I am given. But what I have now are unfinished mocks and Illustrator files. What do you suggest I approach the client with? – by hq overview ccricers – –
