Hi guys. I have an idea I’ve been playing around with for the last few years for a relatively simple IOT device combined with a service and integrated app that could revolutionize society, and at the very least make hundreds of millions of dollars. Obviously, you don’t need to take my word for it. But, for the sake of argument let’s assume that I’m, at the very least, convinced of my convictions. I’ve concluded that the United States, for several reasons, is the best place to launch. I’m certain I will not have trouble securing funding – and am more worried about who I sign with. I have a good understanding of the talent I’ll need to bring on board (one CTO, one CFO, and a Senior Developer, to start), how to go about prototyping, doing market research, and tweaking for mass production, but I need contacts in America as I’ve been living in New Zealand studying, graduating, and then working as a Tech Recruiter for the last 5 years -though I was born and raised in Seattle. I’d love some advice, at this point, as to how to proceed. Developers are way cheaper in New Zealand than the U.S., and I know a number of companies that do there dev. here and most of their business in California to save money – as I said, America is my target market. Should I begin by moving back to the States? If not, how should I begin reaching out to investors there, or elsewhere? Also how much do NDAs protect me, and how much do I need to spend on having one drafted, or will a generic online template do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. – by hq overview Zworyking – –
