Hi! First time poster, I had a question about everyone’s experience with implementing automated bidding (Target CPA, Max conversions, max clicks, etc). I know for things like Facebook, they tell you when things are in a Learning phase. How long from when you turn automated strategies on for Google Ads do you think it really starts getting in the groove aka how long can you tell your client not freak out for? Thank you for your help!

You can run a manual strategy at first and then switch over once there’s enough data. Prevents the initial craziness.

Google also notifies you about the “learning” phase but you may need to run campaigns for much longer than that for your CPA (assuming you’re using a CPA strategy) to normalize.

I’d say give it a solid month.

This is especially true if you’re using non-last-click attribution, as your CPA will drop as conversions backfill.

CPA and Max Conversions will need a large number of conversions to optimize properly. I’ve done better with Manual CPC over max clicks as well.
