How the heck to get into this field?

Looking to change careers from being a police officer to back to my roots of doing something with computers / digital marketing. Prior to being a police officer I was an IT guy that basically provided helpdesk support to customers. I have always had a passion for social media, marketing, building communities, web design (not the coding part), anything related to the internet and building some sort of community, personal brand, and commerical brands. My question is how the heck do I get into this field? I have been doing some freelance work or trying to get some gigs doing very small social media / digital marketing tasks to build my portfolio. I am actually willing to do FREE work to build my portfolio. I also have been trying to build my personal brand / personal pages to show that I can generate traffic, followers, etc to a social media page. I have gotten 1 Hubspot cert. and working on some other small training classes online. I have 2 college degrees which that doesn’t seem to mean crap in the digital world but just trying to figure out where to go next? I am looking for really anything to get my foot in the door. I would do an internship but I can’t afford that financially. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. – by hq overview blueline231 – –
