I originally posted this in r/personalfinance but they sent me over here so fingers crossed I’m in the right place. When I started at my company eight years ago I was given a 10% ownership stake. We merged with another company and my share got dilated to 4%, then we split up again and I don’t know what percentage I have now, tbh. I only ever got one dividend cheque about five years ago and all profits have been reinvested since then so I haven’t thought much about it. We just got a valuation calculation of $2.65MM so I’m wondering how I can get an idea of how much my buyout will be. It had to be way more complicated than 4% of $2.65MM, right? I have the valuation statement and am in Ontario, Canada but my company is based in British Columbia in case that makes any difference. Any help or insight will be much appreciated! submitted by /u/Practicing_Heathen [link] [comments]
