I want to get started but don’t know how to? Any comments welcomed

I’m working a job that I can’t stand. I’ve always wanted to start an opportunity for me to work for myself. I have no problem with working hard and working long hours. I’m also very driven and motivated to give anything I attempt my 110% My issue is finding a niche that I can build into. I want to be able to find something that can be profitable and sustainable. How did you find your niche? How did you get started? Is there any useful tips or sites or information that I can read which would allow me to take the next step. All comments are appreciated.
