I’ve worked for 5 years in this industry and have seen many people (Mar-com students, intern or fresh accounts/creatives, etc.) asking and confusing about positions in Marketing world. I’ve joined few career-oriented session with Heads of Creative/Planning/Account & Brand Managers from top companies presenting about the big picture of marketing & communication. I’d like to share it to people who want to know. Below is the structure of the sharing session abt CLIENT – AGENCY CAREER ORIENTATION: What is Marketing, in a simple way & key things to remember What is Agency, what is Client? Can we swap? Agency 101: How many kinds of Agencies do we have? Agency 101: How many roles/positions in an agency? Agency 101: What is the career path/level for each position? Client 101: What type of Client do we have? Client 101: How many roles/positions in a Client-side marketing team? Client 101: What is the career path/level for each position? Key popular positions: what skills/knowledge do we need to develop in a specific position? I think that’s enough detail for newbie to understand abt this creative world (and also long enough to read so you won’t be tired lol). But do you think there’s anything missing? I create this thread to collect all questions then will try to cover all in the sharing session thread next week (will post the link here). Also, I’ll present in writing & will add some images/slides to make it easier & more fun way to read. If you have any more suggestion, feel free to share. See ya next Monday! submitted by /u/rabnguyen [link] [comments]
