I’m evaluating some CPC companies to monetize a blog site, and one that came up was Adsterra. Their site seemed clean and professional, and it was easy to register my site and generate a banner ad with the appropriate G-rated content. They explicitly give you the option to disable “Erotic ads”, “gambling” and similar sleazy content. So I placed their generated ad code on my development server and tried it, and it seemed to show fairly generic banner ads. They were all for some silly cartoon web game, but whatever. So I clicked out of that tab to check my mail, and when I clicked back to it, I found Adsterra had redirected my site to a pretty grizzly porn website. To say the least, I was not happy, and I certainly don’t want my users to experience this. Not only don’t I want my site being associated with that, I certainly don’t want users being forcibly redirected to any site without at least clicking. Looking at some past posts it seems Adsterra has a checkered past. Are they a scam site? I’m surprised they would give me to option to disable porn ads…but then still show porn ads. – by hq overview GrabAHamLincoln – –
