Hi guys, I currently work in IT which I am desperate to get out of, and I’ve been looking to get into marketing – long story short. A job has just popped up as a marketing officer for a company whose mission I have HUGE passion for and is my dream company (I won’t specifiy who they are, but it’s a wildlife organisation). Unfortunately, I don’t have experience in marketing. I have an IT background obviously and can learn very quickly, especially with tech stuff. I’m just worried that it may be a job you can’t really get without some sort of experience with marketing or a degree in it. I understand there’s nuance to marketing and trends that I have never dealt with before. I have a little experience with the creative side of marketing (Photography/Videopgraphy, which I admittedly would prefer to be doing, but this job is aimed more towards the analytical side it would appear. The company apparently have great training, but I don’t know if that is just for further training and not entry level training for this particular role. I’m aware this is quite vague, I’m just hoping people in the field would be able to answer the question of “would you hire someone in a marketing role without experience?” Thanks in advance guys! – by hq overview MrAnon86 – –
