I work for a client, and they have a website build on an archaic CMS which doesn’t allow adding links to the navbar unless they’re a [category] type. They’re launching a new landing page about an event they’re rolling out and they want its link to appear in the navbar. However, this page will not be of [category] type, and I am not able to include it in the navbar. A workaround that I’ve thought about was to create an empty [category] page with roughly the same link structure (/category/new-event) as the actual landing page url (/events/new-event), and then 301 redirect the empty category to the actual landing page. Will this work? If not, what are your suggestions? Should I fill out the meta tags of the empty category page, or just the ones on the actual landing page? Thank you in advance! – by hq overview Ax3boy – –
