Hi all. I am stuck on what i should do here and will use phones as an example product.

Basically, i have written a complete guide on everything you need to know about phones. I have also written 2 ‘buyers guides’ on the 5 best Android phones and the 5 best other phones (Apple/Windows etc.).

My issue is that all 3 pages are ranking for the same keyword and in the complete guide, i want to include a link back to the other 2 pages. The reader may want to explore recommended products, so i added a link with the text: “CHECK OUR BUYERS GUIDE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS”.

Yoast has rated this as red. “Link keyphrase: You’re linking to another page with the words you want this page to rank for. Don’t do that!”

If i combine all 3 articles, it will be over 8000 words.

    Any recommendations?

What is the difference between the complete buyer’s guide and the 2 individuals? Why would someone who is on one page want to read another? Figure out what unique contribution the other pages are making and make sure to differentiate that in the link text. Beyond that, Yoast can’t tell you how Google will handle NLP of each page to figure out how each are unique, but it’s a good thing to keep in mind. If you’re not competing for the same keywords, what does each page do differently?

    Also:
If you have a link that says “Check out… for more of the same” that’s generally going to be a poorly converting link. What is the value proposition besides more of the same?
