The problem I want to solve is this: I want to create a directory site of sorts. A client / user can log into a dashboard, upload some content and that content should then be able to get served through an API that I can use in my SPA. The thing is, I don’t want to go through all the trouble creating the dashboard. The dashboard should literally just be a form and have nothing to do how the content is laid out. I as the developer on the other hand, would like to setup said dashboard by essentially creating the form (via drag and drop or whatever) by just defining properties and their types (e.g. text, link, image gallery, map location etc). I want something that is: 1) Light weight to setup 2) The dashboard should be visually appealing to the client and if some styling is customisable by myself that would be a bonus. 3) Simple to use for the client, I don’t want them to be overwhelmed by menus and settings I know WordPress now allows you to serve content via an API, I haven’t used WP in years but I remember that it always felt that you had to hack your way to the functionality you wanted via plugins like adding user authentication for each client, advanced custom fields etc. And the dashboard itself wasn’t user friendly, and the “structure” still was very much around “pages” and “posts”. Whereas what I’m looking for, the client shouldn’t even have to think about that, just upload / complete the necessary fields. Hope this isn’t too tall an order, looking forward to what you guys might suggest 🙂 – by hq overview Fattyhawk – –
