Hi All! I’m launching this new review website which specifically focuses on the UK and is due to launch on 12th December – the exact same day we are now scheduled to go to the polls. Marketing is basically what it’s all about for us at the moment as we’ve got the technology side progressing along nicely. The problem is that before we officially make the website public, we want to have collected a decent number of initial reviews so that people will have something to look at when they login for the first time! So with that in mind we’re doing things like social media posts (no followers so not working that well!), press releases and getting articles in papers/magazines, and we’re exploring things like leaflet drops/door drops and such with plans to maybe give out leaflets and flyers on the street too. We’re even exploring doing some gorilla type marketing stunts outside tube stations in London etc to try and get the word out! The worry I now have is of course with the election coming all eyes and attention is firmly on politics and Brexit. I’m concerned that our message will fall on deaf ears and/or we’ll be drowned out by the focus on probably one of the most important elections in our lifetime for the UK. What do you think we should do? Postpone or bring forward the launch date? Try and capitalise on election stuff? Maybe ignore it and continue as normal like it’s not there? Has anyone had this type of issue and what did you do? How important is it from a marketing perspective to get the website launch right and if it is perhaps it makes sense to push the date back? Sorry for the embedded questions here! Just I’m a bit nervous about it so not sure if i’m worrying over nothing here. Any help, guidance, or thoughts vm appreciated here! – by hq overview HomeStar_UK – –
