So, I posted a post not too long ago about how I have been home since the beginning of the pandemic, but I got offered a job in healthcare working a remote business position- but I needed to go in for a new hire physical. Well, I went today…and it was awful. You would think that because it is a healthcare corporation – one of the biggest in California, they would be more careful..but no not my luck. So I went in all masked up (5 masks) and wearing goggles and gloves (people were def staring at me like I was crazy). I checked in at the front and was escorted to the back where the new hire health department was located. BTW the “covid screen” was like 2 questions, no temp was taken. I walked into a small room with about 5-8 people inside. All wearing masks but it was so small in there you could hardly be socially distanced. While sitting and waiting to be called back, a woman was in there talking and talking and laughing and I even heard someone cough somewhere. I got called back after sitting in the “waiting room” for 15 min with like 4 other people all close together, and the nurse was all up in my grill, asking me questions, taking my blood pressure, and doing a TB skin test. She was only wearing one mask…THEN she took me to a bathroom and came into the restroom with me…for the urine drug screening. I totally understand why they have to do all of this, but there were no serious precautions being taken at all. Like don’t they worry about THEM getting covid? I met with another older nurse after my urine screening and she was wearing a mask that looked like it was reused…I got close to so many people today and I am FREAKING OUT. I have to go back in two days to get my TB test read. I am just waiting for the symptoms and am so afraid that I will not be seeing my parents for Thanksgiving and if I do feel sick..I might just stab myself. I can’t live like this anymore. I wish I never went.
