I am currently a graphic designer and I’ve dabbled in HTML/CSS through freecodecamp, codeacademy, and treehouse. I have a basic understanding of HTML/CSS but with a FT job in graphic design, I’d like to be able to make the transition to webdev as smoothly as possible. As a graphic designer, I understand the importance of a strong portfolio in getting a job. It’s hard for me to justify trying to create curriculum on my own (I simply don’t know enough about the field) and too time consuming with family to do projects outside of work. I do have the means to quit my job and do a bootcamp or school for 1-2 years without pay. I already have a BS (not CS related though) so I’m not looking to go back to school, but I am looking for something to motivate me to do actual, full-scale projects while also learning more in depth (I don’t feel like I’m getting enough out of the above resources). In your opinion, are webdev bootcamps a good idea for someone in my position? Which bootcamps are the best for someone with limited working knowledge of HTML/CSS that’s looking to build a solid portfolio? – by hq overview noellered – –
