I have a website that’s main feature is a map and shows public health ratings of the local businesses. I have all the data from the local county and want to display it on my website. However, I am running into three major issues. The first, I need to have a plugin to display the data. I have created the KML file and using just Google results in the data not being displayed, as it is over 3000 data points. Not all points are shown at once, unless you zoom out of the entire city, but the site still tries to load it all. I ended up using the Google Maps plugin, but it does not allow for filtering, plus it takes about 20-30 seconds to load the site. This is not ideal at all, and the layout is sort of ugly. The second issue, I need to be able to filter the KML data that is being displayed. With my current data, I can filter just off and on of certain information, but I want to be able to filter even more, at least by two layers. The data is ratings of restaurant health. I want to filter the rating and also the type of restaurant; sandwich, coffee, ect… I have not found a single plugin that offers this – though I have found sites that do this. I’m willing to buy the plugin, but do not want to buy 5-10 plugins and have none work, so I’ve been using the free ones for now. Third issue is speed. With so much data, I want the site to load right away. I have come across other small sites like mine that load without issue, same amount of data. I’m unsure how or what they are using. Getting, updating, and putting the data into a KML is not an issue. I can do that all myself. What I am looking for is a plugin that will allow me to display my data, not slow my site down, and allow multiple filters. Does anyone know of any such plugin or way for me to do this? I can show site examples if needed, though I did not want to in case it was against the rules. – by hq overview AardvarkWill – –
