I was brought into a small business as an intern with the eventual goal of running my own section of it with the title of product manager/production manager. Our company has one flagship product, and my division will be in charge of developing accessories for it, overseeing their production, and doing product support. My day-to-day would basically be making sure our 3d printers are pushing out product on schedule, maintaining inventory, managing the employees assembling the product, interfacing with customers, and spending time in CAD doing product designs. I’m able to earn 5% of the profit in bonuses up to a certain point, so obviously I’m very motivated to make sure things run as smoothly as possible. My major is mechanical engineering so I’m really learning as I go when it comes to all of this business stuff. Any recommendations for books or other resources that would be worth reading? submitted by /u/mr_first_look [link] [comments]
