Hey everyone, I’m a 21 year old recent college grad out of NC seeking to create a name for myself in the business of small farming (microgreens specifically) and am looking for advice on how to file as an llc and how insurance works within that. Details of the operation: 3k overhead, operates out of my residence, shooting for making 30k a year, and I’m the only member. I’ll be selling to local grocery stores and restaurants. I’ve done a good deal of market and production research and feel confident in my ability to gain clients and produce solid merchandise. The issue is, in speaking with other folks on hq overview and briefly chatting with the regulatory offices of my county, I’ve been heavily advised to have insurance for my company. I suppose this is in the event I produce a product containing something harmful like listeria/etc? Not sure honestly. So that’s my thing… how/why insurance for this business and what other steps need to be taken? Also, if anyone knows the general price to go about this process that would also be incredibly helpful. Anything helps! Please let me know. – by hq overview billythekid0128 – –
