Setting Featured Image Based on Post and Image Metadata

I have a site i’m recreating with about 300 posts, each post will have a single image set as the, “featured image.” For each post I have a custom field, “Original Image Name.” The original image file name is listed in it. I’ve recreated each image from fresh scans. The actual filename of the images is new but i’ve put the “Original Image Name” in the “Title” field of the image. Is there an easy way to set the featured image for each post by matching the post custom field with the Title field of each image? – by /hq/wholemilklatte – –
