    I’m currently setting up event tracking for CTA on my landing pages. I’m using tag manager and i integrated it with GA.

    I plan to run paid ads from google adwords to those landing pages but I want to be able to track conversions on pages that are separate from the landing pages, users get redirected to my website.

    How should I best set this up? I know I have to put a script into the page but how will ad words know what keyword got a person to the “thank you” screen on my website? Do I have to do this from google ads or from GA and then connect GA with google ads?

    I guess i’m just confused on how the information is passed on and how to connect multiple platforms?

    Create the conversion goal in analytics with the destination URL being the “thank you” page. Make sure it’s a completely separate URL from the contact page and people are redirected there after they submit your contact form.

    Connect your analytics account to your Google Ads account and then import the conversion goal in the conversions section.

    The goal will now be active in analytics while also passing it’s information into Google Ads too where you can see what keywords converted. Under Aquisition > All Traffic > Channels you’ll be able to see what traffic channels have driven sessions that completed the goal.
