Context: About a month ago I launched Foundergiant, which is a platform for finding cofounders and joining startups. The feedback I have received was mostly positive with 100+ signups with very little promotion. The problem: I have noticed that a small number of members who signed up were not actually looking to join as founder but were offering their services as a consultant, which is not currently desirable. I have expected this to happen and now considering adding a FAQ that clarifies what the site’s purpose is. At the same time, I feel like that people in early stages of their startup might want to connect with service providers as well as cofounders. The dilemma: I’m considering adding a separate “Services” section similar to Fiverr. This would obviously take significant amount of time and effort. My question: The purpose of the website is to help cofounders connect with each other. Would adding a feature where members can provide/receive services make a good contribution to the site? Would it put you off using the whole site or would it make you more like to use it? Would you ever consider using such a feature, since there are already sites out there that are built specifically for this purpose? (Fiverr, Upwork, etc…) – by hq overview foundergiant – –
