The atmosphere in the agency I work at is strange…
-
I’m from New Zealand and the agency I started to work for is quite popular that tries to imitate (in a good way) New York loft vibes. Most of the clients are large companies, but surprisingly, the culture within is pretty bad. No one talks to each other and the office is weirdly quiet. There are about 30 people in the office and I get along with a couple of people, whom I catch the train with. But these are the odd ones out. Everyone else are ridiculously quiet. I had bumped into a colleague in the train station (not one of the two I mentioned earlier) and after a greeting, just walked off and sat in the corner. At the time, I was only a week into the role (now I am a couple of months in). Now I don’t bother to socialise with the others. Just do my work, get in and out, and socialise with those two. Thankfully I only work a couple days a week in this place. The rest I work at a clients office, where it is fantastic. Its strange though because the agency staff always use a messaging app for banter, but there’s absolutely no real banter. Sorry, I just wanted to rant. – by /hq/MeLikesPineapples – –
