  • Thoughts on choosing the ‘primary keyword’ to optimise for?

In the process of better optimising my site for SEO; for each product I want to pick the primary keyword that best represents it. And then use that in URL, title, H1 etc. (plus build more content around that and backlinks etc). I feel like overall search volume is not that high at 10k per month, but it is highly competitive. So should I focus on the broad end highest searches, or the narrower end – lower searches but more specific to the product and maybe show more buying intent? e.g. Searches per month: diabetes test 9,900 diabetes home test 1,900 diabetes blood test 4,400 Or does it even matter that much, what with LSI and I’ll be using all the different keyword phrases on the page anyway? – by hq overview psyick – –
