Staying motivated in sales is a tough thing to do. For some people, especially if you’re newer in a sales role, you’re learning how to deal with rejection. And, until you feel more comfortable about the value that you’re offering people, in can be tough.
Tip 1: The best way to motivate yourself is to find things that really make it exciting to be at work. Do you have a product or service that you believe in? Do you believe in the company that you work for? You shouldn’t have to fake the joy, passion or excitement that you have. If you’re not excited about the products or services you’re representing, maybe they aren’t the right ones for you.
Tip 2: Remember that you’re working on your craft. Every day your work can be 1% better. Sooner or later, you’ll see that things are all coming together and you’re good at this. You’re winning more deals than you’re losing – that’s a good sign.
Tip 3: Don’t look for motivation outside of you. You have to have it within you. It’s just icing on the cake if you also have a manager or a leader who can inspire you.
Tip 4: Write your goals down. People who set goals are more successful in sales. And, have a plan of attach on how you’ll reach them and measure them.
What drives you to make that extra call?
